What is the EB Congress 2024?

EB Congress 2024 is the 1st MENA Region and African International Congress focussed on epidermolysis bullosa (EB) bringing together leading experts in research, clinical management, and advocacy. We are thrilled to be back to in-person EB Congresses hosted by a DEBRA group with an international flavour for the first time on the African continent. The Congress is organised by the Yasmin El Samra Foundation-DEBRA Egypt in collaboration with the National Research Centre for rare diseases and endorsed by DEBRA International.

Why should I attend this Congress?

This Congress presents an unprecedented opportunity to increase awareness of EB, build knowledge and understanding of the condition, and forge vital new connections in the MENA region and Africa to further our collective mission to ensure that patients and their families are supported with the utmost care and attention the world over. We also aim at actively building capacity, inspiring our young students, investigators, clinicians, nurses, and genetic counsellors in the region to train and work in the field.

What is the official language of the Congress?

English is the official language of the Congress. Translation services are not provided.

 

Will medical supplies or care be provided at the Congress?

No, to comply with local laws and regulations, no medical supplies (e.g. dressings, prescriptions) or care of any kind will be provided at the Congress. It is important that anyone requiring medical supplies or care should arrange this before travel.

Registration

What is included with the registration fee?

The registration fee allows access to the full Congress and exhibition hall, as well as complimentary tea/coffee, buffet brunches, and dinner. There are a number of social events for which tickets can be purchased at an additional cost.

What if the Congress is changed or cancelled?

The Organisers have the right to make any necessary changes to ensure the overall success of the Congress. The Congress may be changed to a different date, cancelled, or have its timeframe changed by the Organisers as a result of:

• a) any negative circumstances beyond anyone's control; and/or

• b) extenuating circumstances beyond the control of the Organisers.

In the case of postponement or change of timeframe, purchased Congress tickets will remain valid.

In the case of cancellation, 50% of the Congress registration costs will be refunded.
